Trondheim Symfoniorkester, Eldbjørg and Tan Dun
This Trondheim Symphony Orchestra concert from the World Expo in Shanghai in May this year, was sent in NRK's Hovedscenen on Sunday 21 November (NRK 2). Eldbjørg Hemsing is soloist in the Chinese composer Tan Duns Violin Concerto with the title The Love. The composer himself conducted the concert.
Tan Dun is a world famous composer of both orchestral music and movie scores. He wrote the music for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, for which he won an Oscar. The Love takes inspiration from both contemporary hip-hop rhythms and Chinese folk music, but also from the 1900s' European classical music.
